Infant /Newborn Care Specialist Training

Our Infant/ Newborn Care Specialist Training Course Curriculum and instructors are taught by professional Registered Nurses, Lactation Consultants, devoted child care educators, certified teachers and medical professionals. It is essential that there is training for infant caregivers. Striving to bring improvement to early childhood education and baby development, this is an excellent opportunity to those who will care for newborns and young infants and want formal training. The training covers a comprehensive variety of topics from setting up the nursery promoting healthy Sleep & Safety to caring for Fussy Babies and Sleep Training. Students will learn baby care essentials including bathing, diapering, breastfeeding, swaddling, infant speech, multiples care (twins), basic infant massage, healthy sleeping and eating patterns and lots more. Join us for an informative session of instructor led activities, instruction, demonstrations and hands on practice sessions.

What can I expect after I receive a certificate of completion?

As an Infant Care Specialist you will understand how to effectively set up a routine that fits the family’s lifestyle. You will interpret and adequately respond to your baby’s or multiple baby’s needs, establish healthy sleep habits, know about diaper rashes, circumcision care, reflux, colic, swaddling, soothing techniques, and breast and bottle-feeding. You will effectively set up your family for success. We truly fall in love with our babies and cherish our time with them.

  • Sterilizing, cleaning and preparing bottles
  • Laundering baby/babies clothing and linens
  • Keeping the nursery tidy

  • Keeping a daily journal of baby/babies schedules

Typical schedule

An Infant Care Specialist is typically employed 8-12 hours at night from one to seven days a week. This schedule helps families rest so they are better able to enjoy their new baby.
